The safety course is a virtual, self-guided, educational course consisting of training materials, checklists, photos, videos, and a digital exam.

After you enroll, you will have six weeks to complete the course and exam to receive your certification. Throughout the course, you will have access to coaching from Justin Ford, Director of Safety & Certification Programs at Breezeway, to ensure you make the most of the program.

After completing the course, participants receive a Breezeway safety certification and are welcomed into Breezeway’s exclusive safety community, where they have access to ongoing safety training, support, and other resources.

The safety of your guests should be your number one priority. Creating an environment where guests feel safe is the foundation for a great guest experience. This course will provide you with the knowledge to prevent accidents, reduce liability, and maximize each guest’s experience.

Equally as important for property managers is owner relations. Adding safety precautions to your homes not only protects guests but also protects and maintains your owners’ homes. Showcasing this level of detailed property care will impress owners and help your management services stand out from the rest.

You may qualify to receive a significant discount on your insurance. Since 2019, Breezeway has partnered with Proper Insurance® to help hosts and managers get a significant discount on their insurance after they are ‘safety certified.’

In combination with our operations and guest experience platform, we are proud to offer this safety course led by safety expert, Justin Ford. This program is designed for anyone in the short-term rental industry, from hosts and property managers to housekeepers and maintenance techs, as well as code, fire officials, and elected officials. Anyone in the hospitality industry can benefit from undergoing safety training to better identify potential safety hazards in short-term rentals. Justin regularly conducts safety training for entire property management companies.

The Breezeway safety course is a complimentary add-on for all Breezeway clients and is available to members in good standing of the following associations: VRMA, VRPOME, VSTRA, and VRNATION.

Proper Insurance® Customers who don’t meet the criteria above are entitled to a discounted version of the course.

For all others interested in the Breezeway safety course, it is a one-time fee of $350 for access to the course coaching with Justin Ford for a six-week period.

In addition to the peace of mind that your homeowner's properties are well-maintained and the confidence that you’re welcoming guests to safe properties, professionals who complete the course also receive up to a 10% discount on their Proper Insurance® premium by conducting annual safety reviews. If you’re an owner-operator, you can use this discount for your own property insurance, or property managers can pass on this discount to the owners of the properties they manage.
